The period of being single is one the most exciting periods for every young person. Sadly for a lot of such young people, it has become a period where a lot of them involve in the very wrong vices and habits. As a Christian Single, one of the most important questions you should ask yourself as often as possible is ‘What does God expect me to do?’

How does God expect me to live my life as a single? In a world where everything is trying to distract me from walking in the word of God and living for Jesus Christ, what does God expect me to do? The music and print media, on TV, Radio, Internet and all around us, there is a constant bombarding of the wrong images, pictures and videos to change and twist our mindset. A steady programming to get us to the point where we are tilting to the wrong stuff.

Nowadays, you don’t even need to conceive evil, it is ever present, lust is as close as your mobile phone, immorality is at your doorstep. There are wrong teachings, there are beliefs that water down the gospel, beliefs and teachings that tell you that what we know is wrong can now be accommodated. There has never been a time in history where the truth is more perverse as it is in our world? How can a single person live for God in this wicked and adulterous generation?

The bible has a clear solution to all of man’s problems. The Bible makes it clear how a person can live victoriously for Jesus Christ on earth.

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalms119:9-11 KJV)

In other words, no matter how bad your world has become, God says. This is the way to keep your way perfect. What does it mean to keep one’s way perfect? It means, ‘how to live a great life’. It means, ‘how to live victoriously and successful against the challenges that you face daily’. God’s word shows us how.

To live triumphantly as a single person, you must give yourself to studying and living by the word of God. It is not enough to desire a great life, there is some work involved. In his letter to Timothy, a young convert, he said ‘Be Strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus’ 2nd Timothy 2:1. There is a grace we have to live victorious as sons of God. God said take advantage of that grace. Be a tough, strong Christian. Don’t be easily swayed by the things going on around you. Be strong. Be faithful. Be committed to Jesus Christ. When you are, the Holy Spirit will guide you through this phase into the next phase of your life.
